Emberglow

28 Feb

Another installment of the Pantone color report project! Emberglow was plucked straight from Pantone’s hot list for women’s fashion in 2011.  And you can see why they’re loving this warm, rich coral!  See the full treasury here.

As promised

17 Feb

The first of many Pantone-inspired Etsy treasuries!  This one features Pantone’s 2011 Color of the Year – HONEYSUCKLE!  I love the cheer and vibrancy this sassy pink tone exudes.  I don’t think I’d paint a room this color (but then I paint most of my rooms some shade of gray)- but it makes a perfect pop for a fashion accessory, toss pillow, or piece of funky artwork.

I perused the web to see how Honeysuckle’s been put to use, and honestly, seeing this bright shade slathered all over walls, floors and kitchen cabinets was a little much for me.  I prefer this simpler application featured over at A Designer’s World– a few sassy chairs and minimal paint to cheer up a streamlined kitchen:

She also featured this dining room with to die for wallpaper (I heart wallpaper, but D has banned it from our home). The monochromatic off-white palette in the rest of the room keeps it from being too overwhelming, which I appreciate!

And of course, there’s fashion to consider.  Check out this slew of honeysuckle dresses slinking down the runway over at Tile Envy:

I don’t know about you, but a couple weeks of snow has really got me ready for this kind of happy fashion!

Bloggy Blog Blogs

17 Feb

You may or may not have noticed the addition of a couple more blogs to the blogroll in the last couple of weeks.  Both offer great design inspirations, insight into the realities of DIY (with projects large and small), and are FUN to read!

Chic Cottage Charm follows a couple as they renovate and decorate their home (a la Young House Love – also in the blogroll).  The title gives a clue to the style that will be featured here.  They’ve also got some major renos in the works that should be fun to follow to completion. I am expecting lots of before and afters – my favorite!

And then we’ve got Bouncing Around.  This is a new blog on the block, but already full of great inspirations in design, music and art.  Not to forget some thoughtful and insightful posts on scripture and life as a child of God.  Good reading, lots of pretty pictures, and yes – before and afters!

Maybe reading all of the blogs on my roll will help get me back into the swing of blogging myself!  This site has long been neglected, but I’m pretty sure I smell revival in the air!

Pantone Preview

16 Feb

Take a look at Pantone’s 2011 Color of the Year, and their 2011 Fashion Color Reports for men and women!  I’ll be perusing Etsy for fantastic finds in each of these colors in the weeks ahead.  What’s your favorite of the bunch? Which colors would you love to see featured in the MarcyKK shop?

Ginger & Cocoa

16 Feb

Ginger & Cocoa – yum, right?  So many of the goodies included in this treasury are making my mouth water – truffles, shortbread and even gluten free brownies (my gf friends will be proud!).  And others that look good enough to eat are acutally soaps, scrubs and other useful beauty items.  And of course we aren’t without a few fashion picks in the mix.  Enjoy this nice, neutral treasury today, and gear up for some serious COLOR in the days ahead.  I’m planning to create a treasury featuring each of the Pantone color picks for this season.  Get excited!

Green

3 Feb

I have been longing for spring ever since a snowstorm hit Oklahoma a few days ago.  I just can’t wait for all the new and pretty signs of a warmer season to sprout!  And with St. Patrick’s Day around the corner as well, there seems to be plenty of green stuff to choose from!

Here’s today’s treasury – built around a fresh cut grass theme!  Don’t forget to click the link to see the full collection!

So fresh and so clean clean!  Love it!

Spring Garden

2 Feb

I love the way these new listings for my stretch lace options are turning out. The fresh, spring-y presentation is making me long for some sun and some sweet flowers. Look how pretty the shop is looking with the new additions!

Still have more to list, but this is a good start. I made sure to upload my green options first for those in need of some St. Patrick’s Day protection. Don’t let your baby get pinched! Buy her a lovely green headband from MarcyKK!

I Love Lace!

31 Jan

I have been having so much fun trying out new colors and styles of lace each time I restock for my shop.

Right now, I’m awaiting the arrival of some glorious mustard yellow scalloped stretch lace (so cheery for spring!), a delicate navy lace (the same pattern as the teal and plum headbands currently available), and more!  Sneak peeks of the incoming new lace selections below.  Get excited! Click on each photo for more details on the pictured lace.

Keeping busy

26 Jan

It’s been a couple weeks since my last post.  Not for lack of output here at MarcyKK, though!  It’s been fun to try some new things in recent weeks, ultimately adding some new designs to my shop.  Bitty Blooms and Pretty Poppies are still selling like hotcakes, and I’m excited about The Lily – a new felt floral design with a touch of my latest obsession – TULLE.

Here’s a peek at The Lily, followed by some highlights from a tulle-tastic treasury collection!
